Standard grind resembles the consistency of sand and is versatile enough for a variety of brewing methods, including drip coffee makers, single-serve machines, and some pour-overs.
Coarse ground coffee refers to coffee grounds with large, chunky particles, similar in texture to kosher salt or rough sand, which are suitable for immersion brewing methods like French press and cold brew. Because of their larger size, these grounds have less surface area, slowing down the extraction process to produce a less bitter, full-bodied coffee.
